20 Great Resources for Bible Journaling Printables

Believe it or not, you don’t have to be an ‘artist’ to do Bible art journaling!

If you creating original artwork is not your thing, or you just don’t want to spend a lot of time laboring over a complex illustration, that’s okay. You can still take advantage of all the wonderful benefits of Bible journaling, without the hassle of creating your own artwork.

Case in point, drawing does NOT come naturally to me. I mean, I can do it (I took a required drawing class in college, and was surprised to find that I could actually draw). BUT, it takes a lot of effort. So, I would much rather just use Bible journaling stencils, stamps, and other goodies, that make it easy!

But you know what’s even easier than using stamps and stencils? Printables, of course! Of all the Bible journaling ideas for beginners and other creatively challenged folks, using printables is one of the best and easiest. (The only thing easier, is buying a coloring Bible like this one that comes with pre-printed illustrations).

Just get yourself some Bible journaling clip art, print it out, and go to town! And with an abundance of both paid and free Bible journaling printables available, you’ll never run out of options.

How do you use printables in Bible journaling?

But before we get into all the great places to find these Bible journaling printables, let’s talk about how to actually use them (yes, there’s more than one way!)

Your first option, is to print the artwork on regular paper. By printing your Bible journaling template on regular paper, you have the option to use it as a traceable (tracing the image directly onto your Bible page), or you can paste it onto your Bible page with adhesive, or tape it in place (like with washi tape). And if you use tape, you always have the option of removing it later, or you can leave one side unattached so you can still lift it up and read the text underneath.

Or, you can take your Bible art journaling printables to the next level, and print them out on sticker paper! (I highly recommend the Online Labels brand, as they offer many different varieties and quantities (like matte, glossy, clear, etc.), and all are great quality.) Then, once you have the artwork printed on the sticker paper, it’s easy to cut out and stick them in place on the Bible page.

You’ll notice here that I use most of my printable artwork as Bible journaling traceables—printed on plain paper and traced into my journaling Bible. Question is, which method do YOU prefer?

Now, onto the good stuff! There are so many great places to find Bible journaling printables, Bible journaling clip art, and other great resources… and here, I’ve rounded up 20 such sources for you to peruse at your leisure. The first nine of these are totally free Bible journaling pages, and the rest are shops where you can purchase all kinds of printables for Bible journaling.

1) Scribbling Grace

Jenna of Scribbling Grace has lots of great Bible journaling tutorials, many of which come with free printables to use! You can find all of her free Bible journaling printables here.

2) Bless It Forward

If you’re looking for some simple Bible journaling traceables that fit inside the 2” margin of your journaling Bible, Emma of Bless It Forward Ministries has many, many pages of them, all available for free easy download.

3) Karla Dornacher

Several whimsical Bible art journaling printables and coloring pages can be found on Karla Dornacher’s website. Be sure to sign up for her exclusive “Hidden Treasures” free printable library for even more freebies!

4) JoDitt Designs

And likewise, if you join JoDitt Designs’ free “Delight in the Word” club, she has lots of free Bible journaling printables for you in the club. JoDitt also has many great Bible journaling studies and kits available for purchase, like the oh-so-precious Lamb of God Bible journaling kit (pictured above).

5) Bible Journal Love

Robin over at Bible Journal Love has a sweet assortment of colorful Bible journaling illustrations for different Bible stories, which would be excellent for printing on sticker paper.

6) Rebekah R Jones

Be sure to check out Rebekah’s extensive library of Bible journaling tutorials, many of which include free Bible journaling traceables for you to use!

7) Garments of Splendor

Christin at Garments of Splendor has some truly gorgeous Bible journaling free printables with a feminine, watercolor-like finish. Print them on glossy or clear sticker paper for even more visual impact.

9) Free photo sites

And last among our FREE Bible journaling printables, is this somewhat unexpected option. If you’re looking for a specific image to trace onto your Bible journal pages, you can always look on free photo sites like Unsplash. Say, for example, you want a lion in your Bible journaling (to represent courage, perhaps, or illustrate the story of Daniel in the lion’s den (Daniel 6). You don’t want to draw one from scratch, so just find an image like the one above, print it out at the appropriate size, and use it as a template to trace a lion into your journaling Bible.

Trust me, tracing like this is a lot easier than drawing it yourself! I suppose there are times when drawing something from scratch is better, but especially for a complex illustration, it’s great to have to that photo to use as a template.

10) Pink Paper Peppermints

Starting off this next section of printables available for purchase, is the lovely Pink Paper Peppermints site. Melissa specializes in vintage, scrapbooking style printables… things like Bible journaling tip-ins, inserts, and even pockets, that you can tape, clip, or paste into your journaling Bible.

11) Illustrated Faith

Illustrated Faith has a huge line of “Print & Pray” printable graphics. This collection contains a wide variety of background designs, illustrations, and word graphics…so many Bible journaling printables, you may never run out!

Lex of Hunt and Seek Creative makes tons adorable Bible journaling illustrations, with themes such as “grow with God” and “peacemaker”.

13) Krista Hamrick

Krista Hamrick is the talented illustrator behind many of my fave Bible journaling stamps, and she also offers tons of Bible journaling printables, coloring pages, and wall art in her Etsy shop. So gorgeous!

14) Beautiful Good News

Jenn over at Beautiful Good News offers a wide assortment of Bible art journaling printables, featuring colorful illustrations of plants, animals, and people in the stories of the Bible.

15) Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps

Now, I love and often recommend Sweet’n’Sassy Stamps for their clear photopolymer Bible journaling stamps. But did you know they also offer ”digital stamps” as well (which is basically a different name for “printables”)? 16) Bible Verse Coloring

If you like Bible journaling traceables that are mostly words, great for coloring, and fit perfectly in the 2” margin of your journaling Bible, then the Bible Verse Coloring shop is an excellent resource! 17) Connie Conlon

Similarly, Connie’s shop is another great source for simple black-and-white printables that are meant to fit into a 2” journaling Bible margin. The main difference between her printables and the ones from Bible Verse Coloring (above) is that hers have more illustrations (not just words).

18) Sweet to the Soul Shoppe

Jana of Sweet to the Soul also specializes in these simple Bible journaling printables that are great for tracing or coloring in the margin of your journaling Bible. Her style is more like a beautiful combo of whimsical hand lettering + gorgeous illustrations, which makes for some truly unique printables!

19) His Palette Print Shop

Kimberly of His Palette offers a wide array of both color and black-and-white illustrations for Bible journaling. Her style consists mostly of people, creatures, and objects, and not very many words. So, if you’re looking for some Bible art journaling printables with illustrations to supplement your own word art, her shop is a great resource.

20) 4 His Beloved

And finally, we have 4 His Beloved… a sweet, feminine style of printables by Lisa. In her shop, she offers Bible journaling clip art, cards, and other goodies like wall art.

With so many Bible journaling printables available, you have more than enough to keep on journaling and studying God’s Word to your heart’s content, every day. And THAT, right there, is the KEY! Of all the Bible journaling tips I could give you, none are more important than simply saturating yourself with Scripture, and growing in your relationship with Jesus.

How you accomplish that—what Bible journaling supplies and resources you use—is much less important than the GOAL itself. So, open up your Bible already, and start journaling!
