I don’t know about you, but I love stamps! They’re such great little works of art, which you can use to create beautiful Bible journaling pages, cards, and more. I feel like they offer the best of both worlds… they create the art for you, but you still have lots of creative freedom in terms of colors, placement, combinations of stamps, and so forth.
Even if you’re a beginner, using stamps in your Bible journaling is easy and fun! They can even provide you with creative inspiration for your journaling.
Bible journaling should always be about spending time with God in His Word: Learning about Him and His great love for you, worshiping Him, absorbing and applying the truth and wisdom of Scripture to your life, and so forth. And therefore, the best Bible journaling stamps should inspire you to delve deeper into God’s Word.
So, where can you discover such awesome stamps to use in your Bible study?
Where to Find the Best Bible Journaling Stamps
While you might find a few stamps for Bible journaling in Michaels or Hobby Lobby, by far the best selection is found online! And you might be surprised how many companies there are that make stamps specifically for Bible art journaling. Here are my two absolute favorites…
1) Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps
Way back in 2016 when I first starting using art journaling as a Bible study method, I was so delighted to discover Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps! This wonderful Christian, woman-owned company quickly became my favorite stamp source, and still is today. Their “Creative Worship” line is made for Bible journaling, but they also have lots more cute stamps for making sweet cards and other papercrafting creations.
2) Art Impressions
Where most Bible journaling stamps focus on words (from/inspired by Scripture), Art Impressions stamps are heavy on the illustrations. Their Bible journaling stamps feature elements like flowers, lamps, and birds, which are sized perfectly to fit in the 2” margin of most journaling Bibles. The best place to find Ai stamps, is at Scrapbook.com… but you can also find a few of their sets in other places, like JoAnn.com.
Aside from these two sources, there are several other companies that make stamps for Bible journaling. You can find Illustrated Faith stamps at Dayspring.com, and there are several other brands available on Scrapbook.com, like Penny Black, and Technique Tuesday.
My Top 5 Favorite Bible Journaling Stamp Sets!
I think the best Bible journaling stamps, are the ones that are versatile enough to be used for many different Scriptures and Bible stories (and maybe also in card making), and which inspire us to dive deeper into God’s Word.
Of all the many stamp sets I’ve acquired, these are the top five that I reach for the most.
1) “His Book” stamp set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps
This “His Book” set should be in a gift basket for every new Bible journaler! With so many great illustrations of the Bible, and phrases like “teach me Lord” and “get to know God—read His book”, it’s a great reminder of how important it is to seek God through His Word.
2) “Armor of God” stamp set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps
This “Armor of God” stamp set is full of great words and images pertaining to the good fight of faith. Of course, it pairs perfectly with Ephesians 6:10-20, but it has so many great words like “courage” and “truth”, not to mention the images of sword, shield, and other pieces of armor can be useful for other Scriptures as well.
3) “Mighty Fortress” stamp set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps
Another stamp set that’s very useful for a variety of Bible passages, is this “Mighty Fortress” set. It has so many great words and phrases that are appropriate for the Psalms and other Scriptures that describe God as our “refuge”. What’s not to love?
Not to mention, the castle and tower illustrations can be handy for variety of Bible stories, or even for card making. It really is a big plus when a stamp set can be used many times, for many different applications!
4) “The Shepherd’s Voice” stamp set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps
With so many Bible passages that refer to God as our “shepherd”, and to us as His “sheep”, this sweet “Shepherd’s Voice” stamp set is sure to be used again and again. What a wonderful illustration of the Lord watching over us, protecting and providing for us!
5) “Grape Border” stamp set from Art Impressions
Lastly, this Art Impressions grape vine stamp makes an excellent backdrop or accompaniment for your journaling. You could use it literally as a grape vine, as I did for the John 15 “True Vine” page above (paired with the “I Am” stamp set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps), or for any Bible passage that refers to a vine, bearing fruit, or even wine.
What are your favorite Bible journaling stamps? Whatever stamps you use, let them inspire your journaling, and remind you what a treasure it is to spend time with God in His Word.
