I’m a big believer in the power of God’s Word… and also, I believe crafting can be a powerful tool to understand and share it!

As an adult, Bible journaling has been a wonderful tool for me to study the Scriptures. And other crafts, such as card making, are great tools to share love, hope, and encouragement with others.

While I may not have any kids myself, I know crafting can also be a great method of learning for all of us—kids, teens, and adults, from age 1 to 99+.

Given how complex the Bible can be—even us adults often have difficulty understanding—it makes a lot of sense to utilize easy Bible crafts to assist kids in understanding the God’s Word.

10 Christian Crafts for Kids

10 Christian Craft Ideas for Kids

So, to accomplish that, I rounded up a variety of Christian crafts for kids, representing many different Bible stories and concepts from both the Old Testament and New Testament. Some are Bible craft kits that come with everything you need, and others are just tutorials that tell you what supplies to get and how to make the project with your kids.

Either way, I know you and your kids, grandkids, or Sunday school students will enjoy the wonderful Bible lessons and takeaways that these crafts provide!

1) 7 Days of Creation craft

7 Days of Creation craft from Christian Preschool Printables

Let’s start at the beginning, shall we? This first Christian craft idea for kids, is all about the seven days of Creation as described in Genesis 1:1 – 2:3. This creation ornament from Christian Preschool Printables includes a FREE printable template, which makes it so much easier to re-create for a group of multiple kids!

Each panel of the craft ornament features one day of Creation, with an illustration representing that day. There are no words in the template, but you could always have your kid write something on each picture, like “Day 1 – light and darkness” or whatever makes sense to them to remember.

2) Noah’s Ark craft spinner

Noah's ark printable spinner craft from Christian Preschool Printables

This is SO CUTE! Another easy Bible craft from Christian Preschool Printables, this Noah’s Ark spinner is a clever way to teach kids about how God’s promise to Noah was fulfilled. But also, it can be a great lesson in holding onto God’s promises, even when we can’t see the fulfillment yet…

…On one side the completed spinner, all your child will see is the rainstorm. But this is a great opportunity to explain, that God isn’t limited to what we see with our eyes! And the fulfillment of His promise is often hidden ‘below the surface’…beyond what we can see at the present time. Until, the day when our prayers are answered! What a great lesson for kids and adults alike. 😉

3) 12 Apostles mini book

And now, we move onto the New Testament… and more FREE printable Sunday school crafts! This 12 Apostles booklet is courtesy of Sarah J Creations, and it provides a great tool to help kids learn the names and stories of Jesus’ twelve disciples.

The mini book folds out like an accordion, or can be cut into individual character cards. Depending on your children(s) age, they can just color and learn the names, or they may also want to write some notes about each apostle on the back of the cards.

4) Beatitudes craft

Beatitudes craft activity from ACDesignsGallery on Etsy

Next up in our list of Christian crafts for kids, is this Bible study matching activity for the Beatitudes (from Jesus’ sermon on the mount in Matthew 5:1-12). It’s available at a very affordable price on Etsy, and the only other materials you’ll need besides the paper to print on, are some Velcro dots for attaching the ‘Blessed be’ cards to their matching Beatitude.

5) John 14:6 traffic light craft

If you’re looking for some general faith crafts for Sunday school or other group lessons, this John 14:6 traffic light meets that need very well! Based on Jesus’ statement in John 14:6: “I am the way and the truth and the life”, this craft encourages kids of all ages to listen and make time for God, and to follow Jesus every day.

6) Be kind like Jesus spinner

Be kind like Jesus spinner craft - from ScriptureStoryLady on Etsy

This is such a sweet idea in Bible craft ideas for youth! This is the kind of craft I wish I’d learned from as a kid… the simple emphasis on being kind like Jesus, and all the ways we can show kindness to others. (I say that because I feel like I’m spending a lot of my adult life unlearning selfish behaviors from my childhood! I need more lessons like this.)

You can get this printable template from the ‘ScriptureStoryLady’ on Etsy, plus countless other great printables from her shop such as The Lord’s Prayer spinner, and this Ten Commandments spinner.

7) Armor of God craft

Armor of God craft from Arrows and Applesauce

Of all the Christian crafts ideas for kids that you might NEED, I think the armor of God should be at the top of your list! Let’s face it, sometimes it can be hard even for us adults to understand and apply the armor of God in our lives. So, the children around us definitely may need a little extra help with this Scripture passage.

Enter, this very well thought out armor of God printable from Arrows & Applesauce! It includes each piece of armor, a soldier to place the armor on, and a study guide to help you discuss this important topic with your kids. What a great resource!

8) Fruit of the Spirit craft kit

This next project in our Christian crafts for kids, would be a great project for a Sunday school or other large group! This Fruit of the Spirit craft kit makes 10 displays—at least enough for a teacher to demonstrate + nine kids to make them.

This is a great hands-on way for kids to learn and memorize the fruit of the Spirit (from Galatians 5:22-23). And it’s easy to make, too… the pieces pop out with no cutting required, so the only thing needed is some Elmer’s glue to put this craft together.

9) 1 Corinthians 13 ‘love is’ craft

1 Corinthians 13 love Christian craft for kids - from The Growing Creatives

Looking for easy Bible crafts for preschoolers, that could also be adapted for older kids as well? This 1 Corinthians 13 craft, courtesy of The Growing Creatives, is a versatile way to teach children of all ages about agape love.

Depending on their age, you can use simpler wording for each characteristic of love, and you could allow more freedom for older kids to embellish their hearts too. Little kids might need the hearts to be pre-cut for them, while the teenagers could cut their own and even upgrade their verses to hand lettering (as opposed to just natural handwriting). The sky’s the limit here!

10) 52 Coloring Cards (Verses Every Kid Should Know)

And lastly, I saved the best of these Christian crafts for kids for last! At least, I think it’s the best, because it includes 52 Bible verses all in one package!

This sweet box of Bible verse coloring cards may not be a ‘craft’ per se, but it involves coloring, which is a creative way for young kids and teens alike to memorize Scripture. Next time you have a special occasion like Valentine’s Day or Easter, get a box for each of your kids or grandkids as a gift!

Even if you’re not a kid, many of these Christian crafts for kids can be adapted for adults too! Which craft are you and the little ones in your life going to use in your Bible lessons first?

P.S. Be sure and check out my Christian crafts for adults roundup too! There’s never any shortage of crafty ideas around here. 😉
