I LOVE Bible journaling, y’all! It brings God’s Word to life for me, and helps me to study and remember all the treasures of wisdom, comfort, and instruction therein.
But there is ONE thing that’s *almost* BETTER than Bible journaling… and that is, sharing it with others! I love to tell people about Bible journaling, and I love sparking their curiosity about this uniquely creative way of studying God’s Word. And what better way to share Bible journaling, than by giving a gift?
Perhaps you know someone who might enjoy Bible journaling… Or, maybe you have a friend who already enjoys it and you want to add some new goodies to their Bible journaling toolbox? Or maybe, you want to get some Bible journaling supplies for yourself! Either way, it’s the gift that keeps on giving. 😉

10 Bible Journaling Gifts I Truly Love: For Christmas, and Other Occasions Too!
These 10 wonderful Bible journaling gifts are my favorite Bibles and art supplies, that I love to use myself. Some are especially great for beginners, and others are more appropriate for seasoned Bible journalers.
Ready to check out the list? Watch the video below, or keep scrolling to see all 10 gifts with photos and descriptions of why they’re so awesome.
Let’s start off with my favorite Bibles, and then after those, we’ll move onto some creative Bible journaling supplies. Sound good? Here we go…
1) Coloring Bible

Do you know someone who is interested in Bible journaling, but thinks they don’t have the creative skills to do it? (Or maybe you’re that person?) If so, a coloring Bible is such a great gift to help them get started!
Coloring Bibles come in many different translations and variations, but they all have one great thing in common… they have pre-printed artwork in the margins for easy journaling! No prior creative experience is required; just color and take notes. My faves are the NIV Beautiful Word Coloring Bible (pictured above), and the NLT Inspire Coloring Bible. But there are many more, such as the KJV My Promise Bible and even Catholic coloring Bibles!
2) Illustrating Bible

Next up in our list of Bible journaling gifts, is something that I consider the fanciest journaling Bible ever: The Illustrating Bible! This is the Bible to give, if you want them to have plenty of space to journal in. The Illustrating Bible also has thicker paper than other journaling Bibles, so it can handle all kinds of paint and ink.
Even if your loved one already has a regular journaling Bible, the Illustrating Bible adds a whole new level to their journaling possibilities! I reach for my Illustrating Bible when I need more space for detailed note-taking, such as with the Philippians 4:8 example above.
3) Pocket New Testament Bible

But, perhaps you want a smaller journaling Bible to give as a gift… in which case, the NIV Pocket New Testament is perfect! Unlike the Illustrating Bible, which is big and bulky and NOT good for travel, this sweet little pocket Bible is a great way to carry God’s Word on the go. With this Bible and a small set of colored pencils, you or your loved one can maintain a creative Bible study habit, even while traveling.
It even comes in two different cover options: black (like mine, pictured above) and floral. Pick the one you think they’ll love!
4) Colored Pencils

When it comes to Bible journaling supplies, colored pencils are KING! There are just so many ways you can utilize them, for drawing, coloring, and also writing and highlighting. My favorite brands are Arteza and Prismacolor; both are great quality and come in many beautiful colors. For gift-giving, the 72-color Prismacolor Premier set (pictured above on the left) makes a fabulous presentation. Or you could even spring for the full 150 color set!
5) Faith Stencil Set

Speaking of Bible journaling gifts that are super handy, check out this Mr. Pen faith stencil set! It comes with 14 stencil sheets, filled with hundreds of cool life and faith-related designs that are perfect for creative Bible study. Plus, it’s so affordable, it would make a great stocking stuffer, or a fun gift for each of your small group members!
6) Gelly Roll Pens

Are you looking for a creative gift they could use not just for Bible journaling, but so many other creative pursuits? If so, Gelly Roll gel pens are the perfect option! I’ve tried many other brands of gel pens, and Gelly Rolls are the BEST. They deliver a consistent flow of ink, with virtually NO clogging or skipping, and they last longer too.
Plus, the color options are plentiful and gorgeous, and they’re great for journaling, list making, doodling, drawing, and more. My personal faves are the Metallics and Stardust (glitter) sets, but they also have tons of other sets like the Classics (standard colors) and Moonlight (colors that look good on black paper!). You can even buy this 74-pen Gelly Roll gift set that includes all the different pen types, and comes with its own storage box!
7) Pigma Micron Pens

If you’re looking for a more practical Bible journaling gift, which is great for note taking, PIgma Micron pens are a fantastic option! First of all, they use archival ink that’s smudge- and fade-resistant, which makes them great for Bible journaling. They’re also much less likely to bleed through your Bible paper than other ink pens. And, they come in multiple colors and tip sizes too!
So, if you know someone who loves to take detailed study notes, these pens would be amazing for that. You can start them off with a basic set of three black pens of different tip sizes (pictured above)… or, spring for the Inductive Bible Study Kit that comes with eight pens of different colors. If you think they would like the ability to take color-coded notes, definitely go with the latter. 😉
8) Faber-Castell Gelatos

Of all the Bible journaling supplies I own, Faber-Castell Gelatos are the most versatile and fun! I use mine so much, and they last forever. If your loved one adores color and fun art supplies, definitely add these to your shopping list. They come in several fantastic color sets: Brights, Pastels, and Metallics. (Unfortunately, they no longer make the Iridescents set like the one I have – pictured above).
If you know your special person would love these fun-filled tubes of color, give them this grand 33-piece gift set, which has 28 Gelatos colors, plus four blending tools and a water brush! Or, another great option would be this Gelatos Bible Journaling Kit which comes with other things too, like stencils, pens, and die cuts.
9) Dina Wakley Clear Gesso

You know I couldn’t do a Bible journaling gifts list, without mentioning gesso! Clear gesso is a page prep must-have for anyone who wants to use paints, inks, or other bleed-prone media in their journaling Bible. And the Dina Wakley clear gesso is my fave brand. So, if someone you love wants to get their hands messy with painting in their Bible, definitely gift them some gesso and maybe some 1″ foam brushes for applying it too.
Also, be sure and point them to my tutorial on how to apply gesso in your journaling Bible! I promise it’s a total game changer.
10) Uni Posca White Paint Pens

And finally, last but not least in this list of Bible journaling gifts, is the handy-dandy Uni Posca paint pen! Specifically, I recommend the white pens because they’re just so versatile. I use mine for writing on dark colored pages (like the David character study page, pictured above), but they’re also very handy for covering up mistakes too. That’s right, you can use them as white-out!
Definitely get your special person a set of three white Posca pens, just for starters. Or, if you think they would enjoy more colors, Uni Posca also makes colored and metallic paint markers in various tip sizes! I recently got this set of 8 pastel colored Posca pens that I’m loving (they all work great on dark paper, just like white!)
And, that’s a wrap! 🎁 I hope you enjoyed this list of Bible journaling gifts, and that you found something special to give your loved one(s) (and maybe something for you too). No matter what journaling Bibles or supplies you use though, remember that it’s all about spending more time in God’s Word, and learning and growing in Christ. Whether your tools are simple or elaborate, black-and-white or colorful, the goal is the same.
