I don’t know about you, but I grew up celebrating ALL the secular trappings of Christmas… the trees, the lights, the gifts, Santa Claus, and so forth. Which was lots of fun!

But now, as an adult and a born-again believer in Christ, I really enjoy Christmas décor that reminds of how AMAZING it is that God sent His Son into the world as a human child, to save us from our sins and give us eternal life.

Having a nativity scene, Scripture verses, and other visual reminders of God’s greatest gift to us is so important, because it points us back to Him.

And I’m guessing since you came here for these Christian Christmas ideas,  you value those reminders too!

And of course, even better if we can enjoy the process of making those Christmas crafts ourselves, right? Yes!

10 Christian Crafts for Christmas

10 Christian Crafts for Christmas

So, I’ve rounded up these awesome Christian Christmas crafts for adults and kids of all ages! Some you might want to make solo, and others would be great to share with the youngsters in your life.

There are always plenty of nativity craft ideas of course, but I did my best to find some that are not just a cute nativity scene… such as the names or attributes of Jesus, or phrases like “love came down” and “glory to the newborn King”. I looked for those crafts that would help us learn more about Christ and be more and more in awe of Him.

So, with that goal in mind, I hope you find something among these Christian crafts for Christmas that inspires you to create something meaningful and celebrate Jesus!

1) Adore Him ornament

Christian Christmas craft project - Adore Him ornament

First in our lineup of Christmas craft ideas for adults, is this simple nativity ornament from Karin @ Renovated Faith! I love how sweet and simple this is, with baby Jesus and a banner that says “Adore Him”! With only a few supplies required, and a FREE printable included, this ornament is simple enough to make with your kids too. And, you could easily make extras to give away!

2) Easy nativity wreath

Want a Christ-centered Christmas wreath for your front door? Check out this awesome wreath tutorial from Amanda @ Finding Mandee! With just some burlap, battery-powered LED lights, and a store-bought nativity scene, you can make an amazing DIY Christian Christmas craft.

If you’ve never tried it before, wreath making is actually quite fun! In the past, I’ve made several holiday wreaths using similar techniques, and I have really enjoyed the process and the beautiful results.

3) Paint-your-own nativity set

This is a great nativity craft for adults who want to create their own custom set. You can purchase this wood nativity set, and finish each piece as desired. Make them as simple or as detailed as you like… from a solid color stain, to hand-painted facial features or clothing on each person or animal.

Check out all the paintable nativity sets on Amazon! There are lots of different wood and ceramic options to choose from.

4) Nativity silhouette acrylic painting

Up next in our Christian crafts for Christmas list, is this beautiful nativity silhouette tutorial from Tracie @ Step by Step Painting! She helps you through the process, to create a gorgeous nativity scene on canvas (including a FREE nativity silhouette printable). Even if you’re just a beginning painter, you can still follow along with her video tutorial and complete this simple acrylic painting.

I am SO thinking about breaking out my old oil paints that I haven’t used in years, and trying this tutorial with oils instead of acrylics. I’m sure it would turn out amazing either way!

Christian crafts for Christmas - beaded ornaments with the names of Jesus

Are you looking for some extra unique Christian Christmas craft ideas? If you are, then these last two crafts might be for you! Here, we have these very sophisticated ornaments from Elizabeth @ A Well Purposed Woman…  they’re made with wooden beads, wood circles, and yarn, and finished with the FREE printable names of Jesus to go on the wood circles. Altogether, there are 20 names of Jesus in the printable, which means you will have 20 ornaments to decorate your Christmas tree (or to hang throughout your home!)

10) Nativity shadow box

nativity scene shadow box - God with us

And finally, the last of these Christian Christmas crafts for adults, is this nativity shadow box craft by yours truly! With a paper cutout, and a few other embellishments, you can transform a shadow box into a unique nativity scene.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the nativity silhouette and the adhesive vinyl decal, and I used some gold star garland to dress up the inside of the box. But, you could easily do something different like place a small nativity set inside, or use ribbon to decorate instead of garland. Check out the full tutorial here!

I hope these Christian crafts for Christmas will help you be in awe of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, both in the process of making, and in enjoying (or giving away!) the finished craft. The only question is, which one are you going to make first?
